Experience |
- After graduation joined the Ministry of
Commerce in 1957.
- In 1961 was appointed Economic
Counselor in the Sudan Embassy in New Delhi, India.
- In 1965 was transferred to Khartoum and
assumed the responsibility of chief, Marketing Division in the Ministry of
Commerce.
- In1968 was awarded a scholarship to
read for the Degree of master of Letters at the University of St. Andrews
in Scotland, United Kingdom.Completed Assignment
successfully as above mentioned with an unpublished Thesis under the title
‘Trade and Growth: the case of the sudan’
- Returned early 1971 to be selected to
head the newly formed Economic Department at the Ministry of Finance and
National Economy.
- In 1977 was promoted to the post of
Under Secretary for Economy in the Ministry of Finance
and National Economy.
- Civil service career ended in March
1978 when appointed State Minister of Finance and National Economy.
- In May
1979 appointed Minister of cooperation, Commerce and Supply and held that
office for four years.
- In May 1983 was appointed Chairman of
the Board of Directors and Governor of Bank of Sudan. Remained in the post
until April 1985.
- In 1986 joined Al Magboul Bros.
Corporation Lted., a private concern, as consultant.
- In commercial banking held the post of
General Manager in both the Sudanese French Bank (October 1993 to May1995).
- During his career he has been a member
of the board of directors of several companies and Corporation including
State Trading Corporation ,Industrial Sector Corporation, Free Shops
Corporation, White Nile Petroleum Co., General Petroleum Corporation, etc.
- Participated in a Number of trade and
economic Delegations covering a wide field of activities such as
bilateral economic relations with other Countries, regional and
international conferences and negotiations, World Bank and IMF bilateral
negotiations, financial deals etc.
- Has been the Sudan Governor at the IMF
during his tenure at the bank of sudan .
- Awarded both ElNilein and Republic
Decorations.
